Giorgio Armani
Giorgio Armani was born in 1934 in Piacenza, a small town near Milan. He went to the local public school where he developed a love for theatre and cinema. In 1967 he took a job at the Milan department store La Rinascente. He was quickly promoted to the style office where he helped to introduce foreign cultures to the average Italian customer. In 1964 without any formal training Armani designed a line of menswear for Nino Cerruti. In 1970 Armani became a freelance fashion designer and consultant and by 1975 the Armani label was born. Today, he owns a fashion empire that is one of the largest in the world. Armani's first big success with a fragrance came in 1996 with Acqua di Gio for men, and he now has a wide range of Armani perfumes including: Armani Mania, Armani Code and Armani Remix, all of which are bestselling fragrances worldwide.
